Paula Federman is the director of corporate research for Raymond James, leading the fundamental research process for corporate credit products with a personal focus on financial institutions. She is responsible for generating investment ideas in credit markets, identifying fixed-income securities which are expected to outperform/underperform their benchmarks or sectors and which can provide Raymond James customers with an opportunity to enhance their total returns and/or help pursue other investment objectives.

Paula has extensive expertise in analyzing complex transactions, diverse industries, various credit sectors and all parts of the capital structure.

Paula joined Morgan Keegan in August 2006. Immediately prior to joining Morgan Keegan, she was a sell-side analyst for First Albany Capital. She has also held senior positions in credit research, asset management and insurance underwriting with Wells Capital Management, J.P. Morgan Chase, Standard & Poor’s and American International Group. Paula began her career as an attorney. She is a member of the CFA Society of Naples and the Association of Insurance and Financial Analysts.

Paula earned her B.A., magna cum laude, and with departmental honors from Brandeis University. She graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with a J.D. and is retired from the New York bar.
